Who we are

We meet every week and run service projects together in the City of Koronadal. Our motto is Rotary's own: Service Above Self.

Recent work includes Project Tubig-Buhay, a clean water project turned over to Mamali Elementary School, and the Color Me Fun Run for breast cancer awareness.

For Rotary year 2026-27 the club is led by President Fe Chua Montaño.

Chartered April 28, 1961

How the club began

In November 1960, Gonzalo "Suling" Javier, president of the Rotary Club of Cotabato City, came to Marbel to organise a club here. He gathered 22 business and professional men, and they became the charter members of the Rotary Club of Koronadal.

The club held its first meeting on February 12, 1961, at the Dizon Social Hall on the corner of Alunan Avenue and Osmeña Street. Atty. Hilario B. De Pedro was elected charter president. Rotary International admitted the club on April 28, 1961, and the charter was presented on June 19, 1961.

Koronadal has sponsored three clubs: Kidapawan in 1963, Marbel in 1980, and Allah Valley in Surallah in Rotary year 1998-1999. In June 1981 the club hosted the 7th District Assembly at Celema's Place.

In Rotary year 1989-1990 the club inducted its first women members, and became the second club in District 3860 to be mixed. A year later Rebecca C. Bona became the first woman to lead a club in the district.

The club's larger projects include El Gawel under Rotary's 3-H programme, funded by the Rotary Club of White Rock, British Columbia, and CIDA. Health and sanitation work came with help from Rotary District 2500 in Hokkaido, Japan. A Rotary club in Saskatchewan, Canada, funded the water system at Sitio Lubon Bulol. In Brgy. Derilon, Banga, the Rotary Village Corps gave at least 25 households shelter, safe water and toilets.

Our compass

The Four-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
