World Family Doctor Day outreach reaches Sitio Sanlaong in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat
With Team Project Care, the club held a medical outreach on World Family Doctor Day in the hard-to-reach Sitio Sanlaong, Brgy. Datalbao, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat.
On May 20, 2023, the Rotary Club of Koronadal marked World Family Doctor Day with Team Project Care, a group of family doctors, nurses and private individuals who share a passion for empowering communities.
Sitio Sanlaong in Barangay Datalbao, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat is hard to reach. The team had to cross steep, rocky mountain trails to get to the outreach site. The community was far from health centers, and residents could only travel on foot or by motorcycle, which took hours.
The team held medical consultations and lectures on wellness, hygiene and sustainable living through planting food. It also gave out relief packs, hygiene kits, medicines, school kits, solar powered lights and free haircuts.
The club thanked its partners and said it looks forward to serving more communities, true to its mottos "Service above self" and "One Profits Most Who Serves Best."
