Unang Lakang, a Rotary Day for Children at Kakub Elementary School
Five Area 2H clubs marked the Rotary New Year on July 5, 2025 with a Rotary Day for 286 pupils and their families at Kakub Elementary School, led by free medical consultations.
On July 5, 2025, the Rotary Clubs of Area 2H held Unang Lakang, a Rotary Day for Children, to mark the start of the Rotary year under the theme "Unite for Good." The clubs were the Rotary Club of Koronadal, Rotary Club of Central Polomolok, Rotary Club of Koronadal Central, Rotary Club of Marbel and Rotary Club of Metro Koronadal. The event took place at Kakub Elementary School in Barangay Cacub, City of Koronadal, and was meant for the children as well as their parents, teachers and others present.
The activity reached 286 pupils and their families. The Rotary Club of Koronadal led the free medical consultation, where children received free check-ups, essential medicines and vitamins.
Other services included the distribution of hygiene kits, slippers and school supplies, a feeding program, a turnover of tree and vegetable seedlings with tree planting, storytelling and face painting.
Rotarians, spouses of Rotarians, Rotaractors, Rotarian doctors, teachers, community partners and volunteers worked together to start the Rotary year with a day of service.
